Manga Drawing Club ***Starting in term 2
Saturdays | 10am | Rockhampton
At Aphrodite Art School, we believe creativity is not just about skill — it’s about belonging.
Manga Drawing Club is a dedicated studio space for teens who love manga, anime, cartoon and comic art. A place where sketchbooks open easily, conversations flow naturally, and friendships form over shared characters, storylines and inky fingers.
Inspired by worlds like Naruto, Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia — or entirely original universes of their own making — students gather not just to draw, but to connect.
This is not a structured, step-by-step class. It is a creative circle.
A space where teens bring their own projects — their comics, character designs, storyboards and sketchbooks — and work alongside others who share their passion.
More Than Drawing…
For many creative teens, especially those with niche interests, it can feel isolating to be “the one who draws” at school.
Manga Drawing Club offers something different:
A room full of peers who understand the references
Conversations about character arcs and world-building
Gentle feedback and genuine encouragement
The confidence that comes from being seen and understood
Here, friendships form naturally — over shared fandoms, collaborative ideas and the simple joy of sitting side by side creating.
There is something deeply powerful about young artists discovering: I’m not the only one.
How It Works…
Bring Your Own ProjectStudents bring whatever they’re currently working on — whether that’s:
An original comic series
Character development sheets
Expression studies and anatomy practice
Panelling and storytelling experiments
Inking and stylised technique refinement
Facilitated Studio Support
A facilitator is present to offer:
Technical guidance
Artistic feedback
Encouragement and direction when needed
But the culture of the club gently encourages peer-to-peer support. Teens learn how to give constructive feedback, articulate ideas, and grow together as artists.
Why Community Matters
Creative development accelerates in community.
When teens share their work:
Their confidence expands
Their visual storytelling strengthens
Their resilience grows
Their sense of identity deepens
This club nurtures not only artistic skill, but social confidence and meaningful connection.
At Aphrodite Art School, we are intentional about creating spaces that feel cultured, respectful and creatively alive. Manga Drawing Club reflects that ethos — it is thoughtful, welcoming and deeply affirming.
