Welcome to the School Holiday Art Club with the Aphrodite Art School Team!
Our school holiday workshops offer children and teens the chance to slow down, immerse themselves in creativity and spend time in a beautiful studio environment.
Rather than following rigid step-by-step projects, students are encouraged to explore their own ideas while learning techniques from our experienced teachers. Each session offers a balance of creative freedom, artistic guidance and playful experimentation.
Across the program we will offer Painting, Drawing and Clay workshops, allowing students to choose the medium that inspires them most. These school holidays they can even choose to do all three as we are running them consecutively over the day (see our notes below regarding this option). Or you could take a look at our new Art Camps that are running on different days for true immersive creative fun.
These workshop sessions are suitable for both beginners and students who already love art. Whether they arrive with a clear idea or simply curiosity, our teachers will help them develop their artwork and discover new techniques along the way.
Workshops are held in Yeppoon and Rockhampton, welcoming young artists from across the Capricorn Coast and Central Queensland.
Workshop Options:
Painting Workshop
For students who love colour, expression and experimenting with paint.
In this relaxed studio session students can create their own painting while learning techniques such as colour mixing, composition, layering and brushwork. Our teachers will offer demonstrations and one-on-one guidance to help each student bring their ideas to life.
Perfect for young artists who enjoy working with colour and want to build confidence with paint.
Drawing Workshop
A beautiful workshop for students who love sketching, illustration and visual storytelling.
Students will be supported to develop their own drawing ideas while learning techniques such as shading, line work, proportion and texture. Our teachers will guide them in building stronger drawing skills while encouraging their personal style.
Ideal for both beginners and students who already love to draw.
Clay Workshop
A hands-on session where students can explore the joy of working with clay.
Participants will be guided through simple hand-building techniques and then encouraged to create their own sculptures, vessels or imaginative forms. Clay is wonderfully tactile and forgiving, making this workshop both relaxing and deeply engaging.
A favourite for students who enjoy making things with their hands.
